Head down to The P.T Barn and take on what is possibly the easiest Short Course in U.K OCR...

Your final attempt - 10:00-18:00 - Sunday 20th September.

The P.T Barn is working alongside UKOSF to offer a competitive short course time trial. You will race against the clock to appear on a national leaderboard which will be broken down by gender and individual age groups. The winners will be immortalised on the UKOSF website at the end of August as the best short course obstacle specialists in the country. What better way to support training facilities around the UK.
 

The course has been designed by Head Coach Scotty and it is a real Lung Burner! Less technical, Obstacle Heavy and Short in Distance - Just you against the course - No Fancy Business!!
 

The course is just 360m long with a total of 27 obstacles to complete.

The competition will be running until September 20th 2020.

You will need your UKOSF membership number so we can add you to the national leaderboards. Your age group will be based on your date of birth on June 19th, 2020. If you are not a UKOSF member, it’s quick and easy to sign up, and you can register for free if you are a key worker or have been impacted by the coronavirus. www.ukosf.org/membership/

Time Trial Slot's:
 

Wednesdays - 18:15, 18:30, 18:45, 19:00, 19:15, 19:30, 19:45, 20:00, 20:15, 20:30, 20:45.
 

Saturdays - 09:15, 09:30, 09:45, 10:00, 10:15, 10:30, 10:45, 11:00, 11:15, 11:30, 11:45.

 

Sundays - 10:15 - 17:45 (Every 15 Mins).
 

 

To book you will need to click on the 'Time Trial Slot' you would like a proceed to booking. Please note that you must have read and fully understood the rules in order to take on the course. Once you have selected a time slot it will not be possible to change it.
 

The OCR European Championships 2021 qualifying time has also been set for the Male  and Female division at the P.T. Barn.

 

It's sub-2:45 for Elite and sub-3:35 for age group qualification and it's Sub-4:00 for Elite and Sub-5:00 for Age Group.

The P.T Barn UKOSF Time Trial Course Rules

 

- The course starts and finishes in the same place. A simple Barrier Tape between 2 Posts. Fancy hey?

 

- You must start behind the line and may start after the words ‘ 3, 2, 1 GO’. At this time the stopwatch will be started. False starts will incur a hefty fine of 1000 Burpees and you can start again (Just kidding – you will start again).

 

- You will then take on the course whilst completing obstacles In the order which can be found below.

 

- Each obstacle must be ‘Honestly’ attempted. Failure to do so will result in a disqualified time. This will be down to the discretion of the adjudicator.

 

- All obstacle rules must be followed at all times. Failure to do so will result in a time penalty for that obstacle.

 

- All obstacles carry a 45 second time penalty which will be added to your final time.

 

- Athletes who are 16 or under will not do the Tyre Drag or Tyre Flip Obstacle. Instead they will pass that obstacle and start

on the following obstacle.

 

- You must stay on the course at all times. Failure to do so will result in your time been disqualified.

 

- You must start and finish with everything you take on the course. Example; if you start with gloves you must have gloves with you when you finish.

 

- The Course is an ‘Out + Back’ Course. The ‘Halfway’ Obstacle is a Double Tyre Carry. After this you will run the course in reverse in the order listed below until you get back across the finish line.

 

- The stopwatch will stop when your whole body has crossed the finish line.

 

- If you have penalty times, they will be added to your overall time to create your final time.

 

- You must not get Physical Assistance from outside of the course.

 

- You may where Gloves on the course but must not use Chalk, Tack or any other products.

 

- All Participants must fill out a Par-Q before taking on the course.

 

- All Participants must follow the rules and guidelines given with regards to COVID 19.

 

- This course will be open to all but to be part of the UKOSF Leader board you must be able to give your full name and UKOSF

Membership Number for us to pass on, alongside your time to UKOSF and be happy for your times and name to be published.

 

- The course is 360m long and has a total of 27 Obstacles.

 

- All rules must have been read and understood prior to the course being undertaken. Any questions must be asked in advance.

 

- Any complaints or queries must be asked and dealt with straight after you have finished the course.

 


 


Obstacle Rules

 

Start –

Start behind the Barrier Tape Line, between to posts. Wait for ‘3, 2, 1 GO’. On the word ‘GO’ you can start the course. At this time the stopwatch will be started. False starts will result you in starting again. You start by running directly towards ‘Obstacle 1’.

Obstacle 1 – Tractor Tyre Climb Over 1 -
You will enter between the funnelled cones and must climb over the top of the Tractor Tyre. You must exit between the funnelled cones on the other side. You must not jump vault around the side of the tyre.
 

Obstacle 2 – Lorry Tyre Drag -
The Tyre will start behind two upright posts with Blue Rope connecting them on the floor. You will pick up the Purple strap and start pulling the Tyre towards the two upright posts with Blue Rope connecting them on the floor which are in front of you. The Whole Tyre must cross the Blue Rope in order to successfully complete this obstacle. You may ‘Drag’ the Tyre any way you like as long as you only tough the strap and not the Tyre. The Tyre must remain flat on the floor at all times. Athletes who are 16 or under will not do this obstacle. Instead they will run past and to the next obstacle.

Obstacle 3 – Under 2 x Walls -
You must make your way under 2 x walls. You must not climb over the walls or go around the walls. You must stay between the two uprights at all times.

Obstacle 4 - Tractor Tyre Climb Over 2 -
You will enter between the funnelled cones and must climb over the top of the Tractor Tyre. You must exit between the funnelled cones on the other side. You must not jump vault around the side of the tyre.

Obstacle 5 –Tyre Flip -
You must flip the Tyre once in the direction you are running. You must not flip it in any other direction. You can flip it any way you like. Please make sure the Tyre does not roll when in the top of the ‘flip’ phase. Athletes who are 16 or under will not do this obstacle. Instead they will run past and to the next obstacle.

Obstacle 6 –Red Dipping Frame -
You must start on the Red Bar which is at Shin/Knee height. You can use any body part to traverse across to the other side. You can rest on the Red Beam which is in the middle of the frame. You will finish the obstacle once you have made it onto and past the final Red Beam. You must not touch the grass on the bottom of the frame which is touching the grass.

Obstacle 7 – Low Monkey Bars -
You must start behind or on the Red Base of the Monkey Bars. You must get across the Monkey Bars using Hands only until you are on or past the Red Base on the other side of the frame. You must not touch the ground at any point in between the above. Under 9’s will be allowed to use a step.

Obstacle 8 – Balance Beams -
You must get onto the round part of the beam from behind the coned line. You will traverse across the beams until you can exit past the coned line at the other end. You must only touch the ‘rounded’ part of the beams. You must not touch the flat ‘Feet’ of the Beams throughout. You must not touch the grass between the two coned lines.

Obstacle 9 – Over the Wooden Beam –
You must make your way over the middle of the Wooden Beam. You must not go around or under the Wooden Beam.

Obstacle 10 – Under the Low Metal Beam –
You must make your way under the middle of the Metal Beam. You must not go around or over the Metal Beam.

Obstacle 11 – Over the High Metal Beam –
You must make your way over the middle of the Metal Beam. You must not go around or under the Metal Beam.

Obstacle 12 – Over the Small Wall -
You must make your way over the middle of the Small Wall. You must not go around the small wall. You can use any part of the wall to get over it.

Obstacle 13 – Traverse Hamster Wheel Frame -
You must start on the Red Beam which is at Knee/Thigh height. You must then use either of the Grey Scaffolding to make it across the Red Beam on the other side of the obstacle. You must only use your Hands to get across the scaffolding. You must not touch the floor between the two red beams. You may use the Red Uprights for support when entering and exiting the obstacle. Under 9’s will be allowed to use a Rope to assist in getting up to the frame.

Obstacle 14 – Double Car Tyre Carry -
You must pick up both Car Tyres from the coned Box area. You must carry both Car Tyres around the 2 posts with Barrier Tape around them. You must return the Car Tyres to the coned area. Both Car Tyres must be put in and must remain inside the coned area when exiting the obstacle and ongoing. You may carry the Tyres any way you like throughout but they must not touch the floor at any point unless in the coned off area. Under 9’s will carry just 1 Car Tyre.

Obstacle 15 – Traverse Hamster Wheel Frame -
You must start on the Red Beam which is at Knee/Thigh height. You must then use either of the Grey Scaffolding to make it across the Red Beam on the other side of the obstacle. You must only use your Hands to get across the scaffolding. You must not touch the floor between the two red beams. You may use the Red Uprights for support when entering and exiting the obstacle. Under 9’s will be allowed to use a Rope to assist in getting up to the frame.

Obstacle 16 – Over the Small Wall -

You must make your way over the middle of the Metal Beam. You must not go around or under the Metal Beam.

Obstacle 18 – Under the Low Metal Beam –
You must make your way under the middle of the Metal Beam. You must not go around or over the Metal Beam.

Obstacle 19 – Over the Wooden Beam –
You must make your way over the middle of the Wooden Beam. You must not go around or under the Wooden Beam.

Obstacle 20 – Balance Beams -
You must get onto the round part of the beam from behind the coned line. You will traverse across the beams until you can exit past the coned line at the other end. You must only touch the ‘rounded’ part of the beams. You must not touch the flat ‘Feet’ of the Beams throughout. You must not touch the grass between the two coned lines.

Obstacle 21 – Low Nina Rings -
You must start behind or on the Red Base of the Ninja Rings. You must get across the Ninja Rings using Hands only on the Rings provided until you are on or past the Red Base on the other side of the frame. You must not touch the ground at any point in between the above. You must not use the uprights of the frame to assist you at any point. Under 9’s will be allowed to use a step.

Obstacle 22 –Red Dipping Frame -
You must start on the Red Bar which is at Shin/Knee height. You can use any body part to traverse across to the other side. You can rest on the Red Beam which is in the middle of the frame. You will finish the obstacle once you have made it onto and past the final Red Beam. You must not touch the grass on the bottom of the frame which is touching the grass.

Obstacle 23 –Tyre Flip -

The Whole Tyre must cross the Blue Rope in order to successfully complete this obstacle. You may ‘Drag’ the Tyre any way you like as long as you only tough the strap and not the Tyre. The Tyre must remain flat on the floor at all times. Athletes who are 16 or under will not do this obstacle. Instead they will run past and to the next obstacle.

Obstacle 27 – Tractor Tyre Climb Over 1 -
You will enter between the funnelled cones and must climb over the top of the Tractor Tyre. You must exit between the funnelled cones on the other side. You must not jump vault around the side of the tyre.

Finish –

You will run directly from Obstacle 27 to the Finish Line which was also the Start Line. You must runt through both uprights. The stopwatch will be stopped once your whole body has gone past the tapped line between the two uprights.
 



Here is what The P.T Barn has in place to maintain safety against Covid 19 (We may add or adapt the below guidelines).


 

- Anyone with symptoms or who have been contacted by track and trace must not attend and must follow government guidelines.

- Anyone who shows symptoms on the day will be asked to leave and follow government guidelines.

- You must still maintain Social Distance at all times. 2m is your minimum distance at all times. Ideally more when breathing heavier.
 

- On arrival please sign in with one of the coaches on site before starting any exercise or using any obstacles. You will be told what obstacles can and can’t be used during that session.
 

- There must be no more than 6 at any obstacle at any one time. Please be considerate of others and move along when finished with an obstacle.
 

- There will be a maximum of 28 spaces per training session/slot/day.
 

- We advise wearing Gloves whilst on the obstacles as we will be cleaning them frequently.

- The Portacabin at the top of the field will remain closed at this time. Please leave all belongings in your car.
 

- The toilet will be fully cleaned before and after each session.

- Please make sure you clean your Hands frequently in the Hand Basin in the Toilet.
 

- Bottles of Hand Sanitiser will be left outside the portacabin at the top of the field.

- We will be unable to maintain Social Distancing when administering First Aid. We will wear a Face Covering if First Aid is required.
 

- All training must be pre-booked and paid before the day of training. You will not be able to pay/book on the day.
 

We are all in this together so please respect and work hard to apply all of the above for the safety of everyone involved and their families.
