The P.T Barn is going back to our core with the development of UK Obstacle Coaching/Training and bringing back our Original Workshops that started specifically in Modern OCR over 8 years ago. We will bring all of that experience plus prior experience into bringing you our best product yet!

Expect the perfect mix of Obstacles, Running, Fitness, Bootcamp, Strength, Individual and Team Challenges/Races on the training field and out in the woods next to The P.T Barn.

This will be a low pressured environment for a mix of abilities where you can drop in and out of training to suit your needs. There will be a fun, team element to some of the sessions which will be great to keep that community spirit through the Winter.

​

But don't worry, if you are looking to work hard, build endurance and get a solid 4 hours of training, we have you covered too! There will be plenty of chances for you to test yourself with individual challenges or perhaps step up and put a shift in when it comes to the team tasks!

These sessions will be delivered by the experience Coach Scotty at the industry leading OCR Training Facility - The P.T Barn.

OCR Strength & Conditioning Winter Base Building Day

OCR Strength & Conditioning Winter Base Building Day

​

When: Sunday 19th November

​

Get Strong and iron out any imbalances this winter, so that you can hit the ground running in 2024!

You will hear us always talking about the importance of building a strong base over the winter.
The Stronger/Bigger the base – The Higher the Peak!!

This training day will look at everything from injury prevention through to building up strength in key areas.

 

Sunday 19th November – 09:00-14:00 - £59.99

 

Step 1 – We will run a range of assessments. These will look at everything from over-head flexibility and knee stability, to looking at outright strength through basics push, pulls, jumps, lifts, etc.

 

Step 2 – We will put you through a ‘Pre-Hab’ routine which will help you strengthen and stabilise commonly found weaknesses in OCR athletes. You would do this routine from Week 1 through to Week 12.

 

Step 3 – We will put you through a ‘Strength & Conditioning 1’ routine. This will work all your basic push, pull, push, jump, etc exercises needed to build up a strong base for OCR. We will look at strength exercises which will assist with everything from running and carrying through to assisting with obstacle completion. You would do this routine from Week 1 through to Week 6.

 

Step 4 – We will put you through a ‘Strength & Conditioning 2’ routine. This progresses all of your exercises from ‘Strength & Conditioning 1’. It starts to make exercises more ‘functional’. Example – rather than just doing Dead Lifts, you start working on Cleans. You would do this routine from Week 7 through to Week 12.

 

Step 5 – We will put you through a ‘Stretch Routine’. We will go through all your basic stretches, but then also look at common flexibility issues found in OCR. You would do this routine from Week 1 through to Week 12.

​

 

You will be given the programme on the day and will also be given a link to a video which will demonstrate all of the exercises that we cover during the session. Of course, feel free to make notes and take videos throughout.

Please note that this session will look at the ‘Average OCR Athlete’ and commonly found issues. For any specific issues and weaknesses, we recommend you speaking with a Phyiso/Local Trainer.

To maximise results you should look to add the programme you are given into your weekly routine;

- 2 x Strength & Conditioning per week – Will take just over an hour.
- 2 x Pre-Hab & Correctional per week – Will take around 20 minutes.
- 2-3 x Stretching per week – Will take 20-30 minutes.

2024 TEAM U.K OCR World Championships Prep Training Day 

 

Sunday 28th July- 10:00-14:00.
 

THE World Champs are back and what better way to get ready for it than at the U.K's original OCR Training Facility! 
 

We are so excited for the World Champs to be back and we can't wait to get you all ready for it with the assistance of this awesome training day. 
 

This session will be run by the team behind the U.K's number 1 Training Package for Competitive Athletes - Road2Worlds! This means that you can expect the very highest level coaching at the U.K's leading Training Facility - The P.T Barn!
 

These Training Days really do make sure a difference to your racing game and with it being close to the FISO World Champs, this will give a good idea of where you are at and what you need to work on during your last few weeks of training.
 

First up will be the warm up. To maximise performance, it is important that you are fully prepared to start. We will go through a functional warm up which you could take away and use on Race Day at the Champs.
 

We will move swiftly on from this and look at some of the key skills needed for the more technical obstacles which we feel will be at the Champs. The skills will be broken down into their simplest form and then rebuilt into longer flows. This will be good for those looking to fine tune any last areas. 
 

The last section will be all about race simulation training. We feel this section is one of the more important of the day. To get the most out of this section we would expect you to be practising a build-up similar to that of what you would do prior to the Champs. Everything from Nutrition, Looking after Hands, Kit, etc. We have been working with this awesome system that accelerates everything which happens during a race.

 

Doing skills in a low pressurised environment is what you have been working on all year. Now it is time to test if what you have been doing works. 
 

We know that this day really will make a big difference to your OCR game. We hope you like the layout and can that we can see lots of Team U.K here. 
 

As you already know. the R2W Team have worked alongside some of OCR's greats and have got countless Podiums at World, European, League, National and Individual event level.

U.K Championships
Prep Training Day

2024 TEAM U.K - British and Euro Championships Prep Training Day!

Monday 27th May - 10:00-14:00 (2 + 5 Weeks before event).

​

After 7 years of this amazing training day - WE ARE BACK!
 

The Road2Worlds Team have been leading the way with European Training Days for the last 7 years and we have created our best event yet for 2024!
 

This really does make a difference to your racing game and with it so close to the Euros/British Champs it gives you the perfect opportunity to pick up some new skills as well as develop existing skills. 
 

The P.T Barn for many years has been the number 1 choice for many U.K Athletes to come down and get 'Euros/British Champs Ready'. We are fortunate to have access to the largest variety of Euro Specific Obstacles in the U.K and are always adapting and building to stay at the top.

Run Smart
Run Efficient

Run Smart – Run Efficient - 2nd Edition.

Info: Progress your Running Skills and Drills in this 2nd edition to our Run Smart - Run Efficient Workshop. 

​

Although it is not essential that you were at the first workshop, we will build from the first session with more advanced exercises, drills and running programmes. 

​

You will be coached by former British International Endurance Athlete, James Shane and former England Endurance Squad member Scott Phillips through this detailed development workshop.

​

We will start with a detailed Warm Up and recap a few Strength Exercises that were used on the previous programme as well as looking at linking exercises together into functional movement patterns. 

​

We will then move onto the running drills section. The drills from the first workshop will be quickly reviewed before we progress onto more complex combos. Each drill has been created to help develop a phase of your running stride. These drills really are a game changed ad have assisted in multiple international OCR medals.

​

During the last section of the workshop we will start to put the corrections to the issues that have been identified into place during a running programme. During this section you will take part in 2 x traditional running programmes which will help develop a range of running skills and improve your running efficiency. We will also talk in detail about common mistakes made during running sessions and how to ‘Run Smart’ long term.

​

This workshop is perfectly timed for your Winter Base Training. Work hard over the winter months and come back stronger next Spring/Summer. 

​

Time Trials + Pay & Play

Autumn/Winter Time Trials + Pay & Play​

We are excited to announce that The P.T Barn Time Trials are back with our Autumn/Winter edition!

 

After all the incredible feedback from our Spring/Summer Time Trial we have decided to bring them back for this Autumn/Winter! During the winter there is limited chances to get your OCR fix through races, so this will help keep your training focused by giving you targets to aim towards and give you a rough idea of your obstacle fitness.

 

The course will follow a similar concept to our Spring/Summer T.T. It will be focused around Obstacle Fitness with chances to test your Obstacle Techniques with challenging but achievable technical obstacles. We will keep the course on the Wood Chip to make the running sections all weather. The more technical obstacles will also be under the Sheltered Area. This will encourage people to still come and put the course to the test, even if the weather doesn’t look as good.

Expect a fast, varied, well balanced, achievable course which will leave all abilities swimming in acid by the end!

 

We have made a few changes to the format with Fast Lane/Slow Lane options on two of the Rigs. Expect more technically/strength sapping Fast Lanes for the Ninjas who want to take risks. The Slow Lanes will naturally take longer but require less technique/strength for those who want to play it safer and go ‘Clear Round’.

 

We also love it when athletes like smoothing out the course and taking chances for those time saving moves/transitions. The course has been designed with exactly this in mind and we look forward to seeing how the athletes navigate their way around the course.

 

The plan is to run this Autumn/Winter 2021 Time Trial Course from Saturday 25th September until Saturday 26th February.
