Our Monkey Bars are perfect for people looking to practice in a controlled environment where we can learn the first steps over the safety of Crash Matts. Do you hang on the first bar and not know what to do next?Do you make 1 or 2 bars and then fall straight off? Do you need to build confidence in a controlled environment before taking out onto an OCR course? If any of the above apply to you then this workshop will be perfect for you.
The session will start with talking about Monkey Bars, the demands on body and how best to get the mind ready to take them on. We then move on to the warm up where we carry out and in depth warm up to maximise results when up on the bar. The next step is to learn weight distribution and how best to move the body easily. We then work through a range of different techniques you can use up on the bars and ways to move along the bars easier. In the last stage of the workshop we will discuss exercises which you can do at home, in a gym or at a local park to further increase your strength whilst up on the bars. The main focus of this session is to get you moving further along the bars than you have previously done. By the end you would have also learned techniques you can work on during training and out on the course. During this session we will aim to make the bars easier rather than you better. You getting better comes from getting stronger, fitter, more mobile etc. This happens after the workshop. We recommend that you are able to hang from a pull up bar for a minimum of 20 seconds.
