OCR Strength & Conditioning Winter Base Building Day

Get Strong and iron out any imbalances this winter, so that you can hit the ground running in 2024!

You will hear us always talking about the importance of building a strong base over the winter.
The Stronger/Bigger the base – The Higher the Peak!!

This training day will look at everything from injury prevention through to building up strength in key areas.

 

Sunday 19th November – 09:00-14:00 - £59.99

 

Step 1 – We will run a range of assessments. These will look at everything from over-head flexibility and knee stability, to looking at outright strength through basics push, pulls, jumps, lifts, etc.

 

Step 2 – We will put you through a ‘Pre-Hab’ routine which will help you strengthen and stabilise commonly found weaknesses in OCR athletes. You would do this routine from Week 1 through to Week 12.

 

Step 3 – We will put you through a ‘Strength & Conditioning 1’ routine. This will work all your basic push, pull, push, jump, etc exercises needed to build up a strong base for OCR. We will look at strength exercises which will assist with everything from running and carrying through to assisting with obstacle completion. You would do this routine from Week 1 through to Week 6.

 

Step 4 – We will put you through a ‘Strength & Conditioning 2’ routine. This progresses all of your exercises from ‘Strength & Conditioning 1’. It starts to make exercises more ‘functional’. Example – rather than just doing Dead Lifts, you start working on Cleans. You would do this routine from Week 7 through to Week 12.

 

Step 5 – We will put you through a ‘Stretch Routine’. We will go through all your basic stretches, but then also look at common flexibility issues found in OCR. You would do this routine from Week 1 through to Week 12.

You will be given the programme on the day and will also be given a link to a video which will demonstrate all of the exercises that we cover during the session. Of course, feel free to make notes and take videos throughout.

Please note that this session will look at the ‘Average OCR Athlete’ and commonly found issues. For any specific issues and weaknesses, we recommend you speaking with a Phyiso/Local Trainer.

To maximise results you should look to add the programme you are given into your weekly routine;

- 2 x Strength & Conditioning per week – Will take just over an hour.
- 2 x Pre-Hab & Correctional per week – Will take around 20 minutes.
- 2-3 x Stretching per week – Will take 20-30 minutes.



The session will be run by Coach Scotty at The P.T Barn.
